INTO THE FRAY
INTO THE FRAY

In healthcare marketing, it’s often the same story. Certifications blur together. Rankings fade into the background. And carefully staged hospital visuals rarely earn trust. For Idaho Falls Community Hospital, the challenge wasn’t capability—it was perception. Despite having the people, systems, and grit to handle serious emergencies, awareness of the hospital’s trauma services lagged behind louder regional competitors. Into the Fray was created to change that—not by making claims, but by showing proof. By capturing the real providers and real moments that define care when seconds matter most.

For this project I was both Director of Photography for all the motion picture elements as well as Still Photographer capturing all still images for the print and billboard campaign.

Below is a behind the scenes of us tackling this project with the agency Nobel West.

Love Has No Labels "Fans of Love" - EMMY Award Winner

The Ad Council’s Love Has No Labels is a public service advertising campaign that encourages people to examine and challenge their own implicit bias. For years, kiss cams have been a big part of American sports culture. In Fans of Love, Love Has No Labels puts a twist on the kiss cam by turning it into a symbol for unbiased love. In the stadium, fans cheered for love in all its forms—regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or religion.

Light Darkness Light - Feature Documentary Trailer

Light Darkness Light presents an immersive narrative about memory, technology, faith and perception through one man’s extraordinary odyssey into the future. At age 76, Ian Nichols — an Anglican priest who has been blind for nearly 40 years — becomes one of the first people in the world to attempt to regain sight with an implanted bionic eye. Melding intimate first-person verité with cinematic memory sequences and depth camera animation, the film captures one man’s remarkable journey to redefine the boundaries of human perception and technology.

Soaring by the Sea Foundation - Sound of History IMAX - Aerial Crew Behind the Scenes

Happy 4th of July. Going into our 250th year as a country, we’re proud to share a behind the scenes of our aerial film crew tackling the filming of a original P-40 Warhawk firing all 6 .50 cal machine guns for the first time since the end of World War II, over 80 years ago.

This was a monumental effort from all involved. What an experience it was to work with this gang of hardworking folks. Flying along side, above, behind and maneuvering around this old warbird was unreal, the team delivered in spades and it’s something I won’t forget.

Director - Matthew Troy

DP - Greg Wilson

 Production Company: Silent Dog Pictures

Nearly three-fourths of the fire departments in the United States are volunteer, as is the case in Connecticut. Nearly all volunteer fire departments across the state are facing staffing shortages, with fewer and fewer citizens stepping up to volunteer as older generations retire. Attempting to engage new audiences with a cinematic flair, the PSA campaign "See You Out There" was written and directed by Matthew Troy, a volunteer firefighter and filmmaker, and produced in partnership with the CT Fire Chiefs Association and International Association of Fire Chiefs. Every firefighter/rescuer featured in this film is an actual volunteer firefighter. Visit www.everydayheroct.org for more information, or to learn how you can join your local CT fire department.

CHANGING LIVES THROUGH AVIATION

This was the first aerial project I worked on, it was a passion project about humanitarian flight for a company trying to change the perception of aviation by showing how beneficial it can be for the people who need it. As an aviation outsider it transformed my perspective and laid the foundation for the aerial work I create over the next few years and into today.

AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL - Disney+ Trailer

“AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL,” narrated by Michael B. Jordan, is the jaw-dropping story of North America’s picturesque lands and its amazing animals. We take a journey through the mountainous Northwest, the steamy South, the arid West and the endless Heartland to witness the animals of North America overcoming the elements and thriving.

BEHIND THE SCENES - STORMS

AMERICA - BTS of STORMS

Ride along with me and my team as we get unclose and personal with some of the most violent forces on earth. I’ve had many “firsts” in cinematography and have always tried to find new ways to move the camera or place it where it’s never been before; but capturing storms for Disney+’s America the Beautiful was one of the most thrilling sequences I have ever been part of.

As a long time storm chaser, I knew the level of detail and focus from the entire team would be critical to not only do this safely but to capture imagery that would truly change perspectives on weather and the forces that create it, we would need to have the best people in the world in each position. Much more to come on this style of work, we’re just getting started.

Cheetahs on the Edge

-Winner of the 2013 National Magazine Awards for best Multimedia piece of the year-
Cheetahs are the fastest runners on the planet. Combining the resources of National Geographic Magazine and the Cincinnati Zoo, and drawing on the skills of an incredible crew, we documented these amazing cats in a way that’s never been done before.

Using a Phantom camera filming at 1200 frames per second while zooming beside a sprinting cheetah, the team captured every nuance of the cat’s movement as it reached top speeds of 60+ miles per hour. The extraordinary footage that follows is a compilation of multiple runs by five cheetahs during three days of filming.

Let Me Know When You See Fire

Cinematographer Greg Wilson was asked by Vision Research and Abel CineTech to shoot the first test footage with the new Phantom Flex4K Digital Cinema Camera. He brought on director Brendan Bellomo to direct the project. The camera was a little more than a week old; still in its alpha prototype stage, had only been turned on a few times, when they got their hands on it.

All the live action footage was shot on March 24th, 2013. Some additional fire elements were shot on the 23rd and 25th of March with the Hebron and Glastonbury Fire Departments in Connecticut.

Director - Brendan Bellomo

Producers - Liliana Bonafini, Greg Wilson, Brendan Bellomo
